My original e-file conflicted with a dependent's return that had been already submitted. My paper filing was accepted and the dependent's return will be amended. After filing, I received a Schedule-K, aka (Form 1065), which needs to be attached to my 2021 return (will be done by mail). It won't affect 2021 return numbers, but I expect that it needs to be reflected in TurboTax so that any effects on future returns will be flagged and accounted for by TurboTax. I'm trying to determine how I can attach the information from Schedule K to my 2021 return in TurboTax so that I can continue to use it confidently moving forward. It already appears that TurboTax doesn't have an issue working on my 2022 return even though, from it's point of view, my 2021 return was rejected by the IRS. Thank you.
That's a Schedule K-1. You need to amend your 2021 return to file it and add it. Then transfer from the Amended return into 2022.
If you don't amend 2021 (or even if you do) you can just enter the 2022 K-1 directly into Turbo Tax. In the Online versions you will need to use the Premier or Self Employed version to enter a K-1. You can enter it into any of the Desktop programs.
To enter a K-1 go to
Federal Taxes Tab or Personal (Home & Business version)
Wages and Income
Then scroll way down to S-Corp, Partnerships and Trusts
Schedules K-1 - Click the Start or Update button
Be sure to pick the right kind of K-1. There are 3 kinds, 1041, 1065 & 1120S
Enter each k-1 separately.
