Reject Code /Return/ReturnData/IRS8915F/FEMADisasterDeclarationNum

My taxes were rejected due to code Reject Code /Return/ReturnData/IRS8915F/FEMADisasterDeclarationNum. Has anyone heard anything from TT or know if the issue on form 8915-F is being corrected for online resubmission?

Please try these steps to fix the rejection issue:

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account
  2. Click on the "Search" on the top and type “1099-R”
  3. Click on “Jump to 1099-R”
  4. If you do not have any 2022 1099-R answer "No" to "Did you get a 1099-R in 2022?" (If you have any other 1099-R then enter all 1099-R and after entering your last 1099-R click "Continue" on the “Review your 1099-R info” screen)
  5. Answer "Yes" to the "Have you ever taken a disaster distribution before 2022?" screen
  6. Answer "Yes" to "Did you take a 2020 Qualified Disaster Distribution?"
  7. Uncheck the box next to "If this was a Coronavirus-related distribution reported in 2020 check here" and click continue
  8. On the "Which disaster affected you in 2020?" screen I selected the blank entry and click "back
  9. Then recheck the box next to "If this was a Coronavirus-related distribution reported in 2020 check here" and continue.

Please let me know if this worked for you.

Thanks so much for your reply however it still did not fix the issue. It still keeps sending me back to this page and I go under the 1099 and keep revisiting but it just keeps sending me in the same loop with the same issue.

I called in. I was told to delete the form under tax tools - under tools - delete form- find the form - then delete it. Then redo it and refile.

It was still giving instructions on how to fix it after that - but I refiled and it was accepted.

I'm using the desktop version this year (Big Mistake) and this does not resolve the issue.

I printed it to review what the issue was. the information is filled in on the wrong line in section C when i should be in section D. It is a back-end issue on turbo tax that they have to go in and change. Nothing i have done and no one I have spoken to has helped.

Very frustrating supposed to be the last of 3 years of this and was supposed to be easy I even paid estimated taxes on top of wages just so I would not owe on 2022 taxes but it is so frustrating and I have tried everything and it still refuses. Then Turbo tax states I can mail my return?  What was the point of buying the disc to have it efiled as I have many times before.   Maybe should have went to an H& R Block or a CPA and not have to get this issue?

If this isn't resolved this week I'm filing a fraud charge with my Credit Card Co to get my $ back for the software.  I'll start over with someone who wants to help me.

I may try a new software program next year.  if it works from with what expert Brittany S gave us then I will be much happier to stay with Turbo tax if it works

That was great. I am so happy to hear that. I am going to try that and see what happens maybe mine will get accepted . I think since I started before the update it could have screwed it up. Thanks glad it worked for you.

I will try a few of these steps I got from a few places in these discussions to see if they work.  I have the desktop version as well.

SOLVED: If you started your taxes before the latest revision of form 8915-F was released, then your return will have the outdated form still attached and will be rejected by the IRS.

My return was rejected 3 times before. I went into "Tools" and deleted the "Corona Virus Distribution 2020" and "Form 8915-F" forms, then I went through the steps again to add/skip 1099-R's and add a Disaster Distribution for 2020. This worked and my return was accepted within 2 hours.

Yaaah my returns were accepted. It was the form that held me up. It took a while I had to void the form then go into it by changing it then back to right amounts it cleared the wrong things on form that IRS did not accept. . It was a bunch of switching around and checking the form again and again until I entered the right way again. I used the deskt

op version. Finally the form cleared and submitted the amounts from my past files sent efile and it accepted.  Check the community for the instructions for your online or desktop whatever you use. Thanks community  much helpful.
