I am using the desktop version of Turbo Tax, and it is fully updated. I live in Portland, Oregon, which has a few additional local taxes/forms, which I normally file by mail or directly with the City of Portland. This year, Turbo Tax has the option to select those while working on my state taxes. I did, regrettably, and then got errors that I could not file state or local taxes because the forms aren't available. I went back to uncheck the local forms so I can file my state return. I cannot uncheck the Individual Business Tax on Form SP (and I'm not even subject to this tax!) and that option does not not uncheck when I select "none of the above." This leads to errors with information I haven't entered for Form SP (which I don't have because I'm not subject to it) and the error message that I cannot e-file my *state* taxes because the local state tax forms are not yet available. I just want to remove any connection to local tax forms so I can file state and federal now, and deal with local taxes later directly with the taxing authority.
I believe the inability to uncheck (or select None of the Above) is a bug. Please help me figure out how I can decouple the local taxes so I can file state and federal. State is the one I want to file now because I am getting a refund. I do not want to wait for the rest of my tax filings until Turbo Tax/Portland make local forms available and working.
