The following answer is for tax years 2014 through 2018. For tax years 2019 and future years, the Obama Administrations Affordable Care Act penalty for not having health insurance was repealed by the Trump Administration.

If, between the two health insurance companies, you had coverage for the whole year, enter, "I had coverage all year". Please see the following:

  1. At the 'Did you have health insurance coverage in 2017?' screen, choose the first option, 'I had health insurance coverage all year'.
  2. On the 'Was anyone enrolled in any of these less common plans in 2017?' screenchoose Yes and continue.
  3. On the 'What type of plan were you enrolled in?' screen, choose Obamacare plan (1095-A).
  4. You will need to enter the months that you had Obamacare (Form 1095-A). You do not have to enter the information from form 1095-B or 1095-C.
  5. Continue with the health insurance interview until complete.
