It depends on what type of 1099 you have?   If you are going to use TurboTax Online, you can start out in the Free version and upgrade only if necessary.   That link will get you started.

If you are using TurboTax desktop, you can use any version, but you get more guidance in the program with the higher level editions.   The link will give you more information.

Check this chart to see what version you need for your 1099 form; just type 1099 into the search bar after clicking the link.

Thank you for answering my question. I am supposed to file a 1099-NEC but the company has not sent me the 1099-NEC. So, can I start off with Turbo Tax Deluxe and upgrade as necessary? will it prompt me with the right questions and fill out the appropriate schedules that go with the 1040? Thanks

Yes you can start in Deluxe and only upgrade if necessary.   And yes, you will be prompted with the necessary questions to get your taxes filed, correctly.     And you don't need the 1099-NEC to report the self-employment income.  As long as you know the amount, you can use the Other/General Self-Employment Income category.    Where do I enter Schedule C?
