My downloaded version of turbotax keeps crashing. I cannot get the program to stay open after it updated. I need to file a mock return for my spouse.

Corruption could have occurred in the Application or in an associated preference or support file.   To uninstall the application and all associated files need to be deleted and then the application reinstalled.  If there was a state then the state must also be reinstalled.

I just want to say that the same thing has happened to me. And the entire system crashed when I was trying to e-file my return. It was a crash so colossal that turbotax won't even launch. 

 

I will try to uninstall and reinstall, but I may be prompted to purchase the State again. I better not be. 

 

TurboTax support agents are useless. Not their fault though. They don't route these calls properly. I shouldn't get an accountant when I need software support as in this case.

Because that is a years old post form the old forum that was migrated to this forum and links did not migrate properly.

 

Corruption could have occurred in the Application or in an associated preference or support file.

The best remedy is to totally uninstall TurboTax and all associate files and then re-install. That will not delete or change any .tax2019 data file that had already been created with the tax data.

To uninstall the application and all associated files need to be deleted and then the application reinstalled. If there was a state then the state must also be reinstalled.
