If you have not filed your original return, you can go back and edit it. See this previous TT answer:

But if you already filed your original return, as @tagteam said you'll have to file an amended return.
If you already filed and did not include that 1099R, you need to wait for the IRS to fully process your return, and then file an amended return.

To enter your retirement income, Go to Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA 401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
Even during “normal” times it takes about four months for the IRS to process an amended return. During the pandemic and due to the severe backlog at the IRS it is taking much longer—six to nine months or more for many amended returns. Do not expect quick results from amending. When the IRS issues a refund for an amended return it will be by check. They do not make direct deposits for refunds for amended returns. You can watch for information here:
