You may want to try to connect directly to your modem to bypass this error. Please see below for additional information:
I'm connected to the internet. I can tell since I went to "network connection" and it says "you're connected to the internet. However Turbo Tax says I'm not. What do I do?

I'm having a similar problem.
I know I have internet access because I can follow all sorts of links to all sorts of web pages. And when I install TurboTax, it downloads and installs updates, which tells me not only do I have internet connection, but I have internet connection to TurboTax.
But then when I restart TurboTax after the update, I get a screen that tells me I'm not connected to the internet, and To activate your purchase, you'll need to connect to the internet. If I click the Try again button, I either get that same page dsplayed again, or a page that's blank except for some spinning blue dots. I am not able to activate the program.
For this, you will need to either give us a call or try to complete a return/exchange where you purchased the software.

Windows download version:
In a previous issue (in a long long line of issues) I was told to turn off windows firewall, which solved that issue. After two weeks of beating my head against this issue, turns out that it didnt like the firewall being off and turning it back on solved the "not connected to the internet" issue (contrary to other bad advice in this thread from TT). Honestly, when the whole country is obligated to perform an action which gets so complicated it is dependent on private software solutions like TT, it should be illegal to put out software THIS CONSISTENTLY BAD, year after year after year. Imagine, across the country, the amount of fines that have been assessed due to TT's buggy, ancient code base combined with their "Turn it off and on again" style "support".
Me too. Clearly connected to the internet and able to surf to sites, read email, etc. Windows firewall off. VPN off. Antivirus off. Speedtest good speeds. Unable to activate 2024 Basic Federal for Windows because TurboTax says I'm not connected to the internet. Hold time to speak to support is 45 minutes or more. Now to surf the internet for alternatives to TurboTax.
Same here 2024 Windows Deluxe; Clearly have connection to the internet. Just downloaded the software and installed it. Even uninstalled and reinstalled the software.
I'm having the same issue with 2024 Turbotax Activation on my PC with Windows 11. It say's "You're not connected to the Internet." I've tried all of the following...
- Turned off virus protection.
- Turned off firewall (Windows Defender)
- Turned off my VPN
- Tried with a clean boot
- Uninstalled and reinstalled.
(Note, my 2023 Turbotax works fine)
I've spent over an hour wasting my time on this. And I have no patience sitting on hold with a Turbotax rep who will have me repeat all these actions. This is ridiculous!!!
I have the same issue. I just bought TurboTax Premier 2024 and can't activate it. Everything is fine in 2023. I have no issues with any other software.
I am also having the same issue. Have tried clearing caches, cookies (not sure how that relates to desktop version of turbotax), turned of windows defender, rebooted machine, tried to uninstall/re-install, etc. And I have no problem getting to anything else on the internet. Just turbotax...
same error here as well. both 2024 Turbotax business and deluxe
I just got off the phone with my rep over at intuit and they told me that they are aware of the issue and that they are actively working on the issue. I was told that it isn't a bug in the installer of our version, but an issue with the activation server connection. No need to kill you firewall, antivirus, or other malware protections. No need to clear cache or cookies either. I was advised to try the software again tomorrow or in a couple days as they plan to have the issue resolved ASAP. I hope this helps everyone.
Same with me, can not activate, says No Internet connection. Yet I can post to this forum ok. Just downloaded Turbotax Premier 2024 online and can not activate it. Tried all the usual suspects, re-install, reboot, firewall enable/disable, etc., etc. Must be an Intuit system issue.
Follow up... The error message was a lie. There was nothing wrong with the Internet, instead the server was down. Intuit needs to pay me for my time I wasted on this!
Tried again, and it worked OK. Their authentication servers must be back on line.
Same message here on my desktop computer but not on my laptop. Got the white screen on my laptop and changed to resolution to 800x600 and it loaded fine. Then changed it back to my normal resolution. Not sure why one computer and not the other.
This looks like it has been resolved. Please let us know if you continue with the problem.
I'm not aware of any server issues today. It's possible your Internet connection was just momentarily interrupted. Try exiting and then restarting TurboTax. If that doesn't work, try rebooting your device. If you are using wi-fi, try using a hardwired connection.
If you still see a no internet message, you might try these troubleshooting steps:
You might try logging out and back in, and using a different browser. Chrome generally works well.
Try clearing your cache and cookies. If after trying all of the options mentioned you still have the same problem:
