Did you have an amount listed in box 10 of your W-2? If so, you must file Form 2441 to report those benefits. If you did not, then you can use the steps below to remove the form.

To Delete Form 2441(Child and Dependent Care Credit):

1. Go to "My Account" in the top right corner

2. Select "Tools"

3. Under "Tools Center" select "Delete a Form"

4. Navigate to "Form 2441" and select "Delete" next to it

Another Way to Delete the Childcare Provider in TurboTax Online:

1. Go to "Federal Taxes" at the top of the screen

2. Select "Deductions & Credits"

3. Scroll down to "You and Your Family" and select "Show More"

4. Select "Revisit" next to "Child and Dependent Care Credit"

5. Select "No" to "Did you pay for child or dependent care in 2016?"

For more info on why you must file Form 2441 if there is an amount in box 10 of your W-2 visit this link:

I followed the exact same steps to delete 2441. I can delete the form but when I try to file it asks me again and again to enter information regarding 2441. I'm not able to e-file. How can I stop turobox popping questions about 2441?

As RyanH2 noted above, if you have an amount listed in box 10 of your W-2, you must file Form 2441 to report those benefits.

Box 10 of your W-2 shows the total amount of dependent care benefits that your employer paid to you or incurred on your behalf. Amounts over $5,000 are also included in box 1. You must complete Part III of Form 2441, Child and Dependent Care Expenses to figure the amount, if any, that you can exclude from your income.

If you don't need to include Form 2441, please see this help article for additional steps to correct the interview in Deductions and Credits as well as delete Form 2441 from your return.

Probably too late now, but may help someone else if they filed an extension or next year.

i had the same problem and while the some suggested clearing and starting over, i figured i'd try something else first before starting over and below is what i did that worked for me.

1. I went to tax tools and deleted the form (this should have been enough by itself but obviously wasn't)

2. I also removed the dependent form for the child linked to the "dependent child care" (you may need to remove more than one child/dependent

3. i exit out of the tax tools and went to review my taxes to see if the 2441 request was still there and it was gone.

4. i re-added the child as a dependent and answered no when i got to the dependent care section and everything was ok afterwards.

hope that helps.

tldr;

1. remove the form 2441

2. remove the child linked to form 2441 dependent form.

3. review taxes to confirm 2441 is gone

4. re-add child as a dependent.
