This is possible but unlikely. Do NOT have charges pending in your account that depend on these funds until they are deposited, the government works at it's own pace and can deny the claim, even after it is accepted (although that is also unlikely).
The government never processes refunds on Saturdays or Sundays, or federal holidays. However your bank might receive the funds on Friday and make them available on Saturday.
WMR updates everyday of the tax season because tax returns are processed everyday of the tax season. The IRS doesn’t issue refunds on weekends because ACH transactions through the Federal Reserve only happen Monday-Friday.
Your bank could process it Friday then you would see it Saturday.
You are a liar the irs does deposit on weekends BIden says so.
@Bssniffer: You are responding to a post from 2019. Did you have a question? Please respond here for further assistance.
I have my deposit set for monday april 5th i have a turbo card and i no the irs usually releases the funds 24 to 48hrs prior to the date for banks to process it. Is it possible i can get my refund the friday or weekend before the 5th
@Fresxedits You will need to reach out to your bank to see if they can release your funds sooner.
You will need to contact Turbo Visa Debit Card to see when they will release the deposit. You can reach Turbo Card by calling Customer Care.
Hello just want to answer some questions because I am a little confused my tax preparer text me on January 5 2022 to ask me for my account and routing number what do that mean she filed my taxes already or going to.
evidently, you have an overpayment that is to be refunded. you can wait for the iRS to send you a check which takes longer than a direct deposit. a direct deposit is sent electronically to your checking or savings account. if you don't have either then respond as such to the preparer or if you want to get a check.
the routing number is a 9 digit number that would appear on the lower left of a check. the account number appears on the lower right and does not include the check number. for a savings account, you may need to contact the bank for the proper routing number since that usually doesn't show up on any statement. the account number should be on a statement
your preparer almost certainly has not yet filed waiting for you to respond.
Does anyone know exactly how far in advance the irs releases refunds? Some places advertise getting your redund 5 days early. How can they do that?
Who is Blden? Sounds like an elf from J.R. Tolkien's world. Didn't him and Frodo steal some cabbage from that bssniffer that didn't know how to puncuate, capitalize, or spell?
On the IRS where’s my refund it says that I should receive my taxes on 22 February does that mean I’ll get it on the 22nd or it’s possible that I’ll receive them on the weekend?
It said I should Receive them by the 22nd of February which is Tuesday and today is the 19th and a Saturday and Monday is a holiday so I def won’t get them until Tuesday or later correct? Or would they post them on a Sunday?
I was also wondering about this but, curious if at 12 am since it's no longer a federal holiday could refunds start posting because it's technically Tuesday 🤔. It says the IRS updates at 12 am from a few things I've seen but, I'm not sure honestly.
My credit karma said it’s supposed to deposit today on the 20th but it’s a Sunday
Did you get a response for your question? I have the same question.
It depends on your financial institution and if they make deposits on the weekend. Keep track by checking the Where's My Refund? tool for the date of issue for your refund, and allow 1-5 days thereafter for posting.
So I was supposed to get my taxes today according to turbo tax and the irs where's my refund will not allow me to do it even tho all info is correct would my taxes come in later in the day ...
@Logank88
It can take 1-5 days for the IRS funds to be sent/clear to your bank account. Please see our blog post here which provides more detail in the IRS' timeline for refund processing.
