Is it okay to add a 1099-INT after I have filed my income tax returns?

I was able to go back and add the 1099-INT but I’m not sure if it will transfer to my return. Does anyone know what might happen?

No, it is not OK.  You need to remove the Form 1099-INT for the interest on the tax return that you filed.

If you need to add, change or delete information from your original tax return you need to amend the tax return.

You will have to wait for the IRS to either Accept or Reject your filed federal tax return.
If the return is rejected you can make the necessary changes and e-file again.
If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

No, you need to file an amended tax return.   Your tax return has already been sent; the IRS won't see any of your changes you made in TurboTax unless you file a Form 1040X (amended tax return).  The instructions are below, but you need to remove that 1099-INT before you start the process.   Your return needs to be exactly like it was when you filed it when you start the amendment, for the amended return to be correct.
