IRS said turbotax is one of tax agencies that free efile if I make under a certain amount even with 1099s. But it is not free. Am I in the wrong section? Help. Thanks

If you are eligible you can use the TurboTax Freedom edition which is free to file both a federal and state tax return.  The Freedom edition is a full featured personal tax program and on a separate website from the TurboTax online editions.

To qualify for free 2017 federal and state tax returns in Freedom Edition, you'll need to meet at least one of these requirements:

• A maximum 2017 adjusted gross income (AGI) of $33,000; or
• You qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC); or
• You served as active duty military (including Reservists and National Guard) with a maximum 2017 AGI of $66,000 (you'll also need a military-issued W-2).

This completely answered my question but it would be nice that you guys make that clear from the start.  Especially since I came from the IRS website.  From this it looks like you're doing this to promote folks paying for the service but it would be nice if businesses like you would be more kind and transparent and make it clear. It would save us to start from scratch with all these forms we have.  Folks that need help like myself and having to save every penny would appreciate it.  It's a shame that consumers are not what businesses think about nowadays. It's themselves.  You can do both and be a business that has integrity.
