You will have to file a tax return to get the stimulus check.  Please contact us to help work through the rejected return.  Is there an error message or number?

My return for 2019 was rejected because my fiance and I both claimed our children as dependants by mistake. The reason that happened was lack of communication between us.  Her returns got rejected for accuracy they are reviewing hers for accuracy l. However she is going to file a amended return NOT claiming the children but until she does that my return is rejected.   The code for my rejection was R0000-507-01.  I did not file s return in 2018 because I was not legally obligated.  She did file a succesful return in 2018.  Will either of us get the Covid-19 stimulus check??? Do you have any advice as to how wr can still get that check. I realize we have to both fix our 2019 fileing but in the meantime rite now getting the stimulus check is very imoortant.  I believe that they will use her 2018 tax return to process her stimulus check.  What do you think?? Any suggestions on what I should do to try to get the stimulus check??

If you filed a tax return for 2018 that was accepted by the IRS they will use the information on that return to send you your stimulus check.

Do you need an IP Pin?

If you need an IP (Identity Protection) PIN to file your taxes, you can retrieve your IP PIN online. Please click on this link: Get an IP PIN

If your 2019 federal tax return was rejected, that means the IRS did not receive your tax return.  You will need to go back to the TurboTax program and find out why your return was rejected and correct it and try to e-file again.

First, if you filed a 2018 return and haven't filed a 2019 return and you meet the qualification for a stimulus payment (cannot and was not claimed as dependent in 2018 and your income was below $75,000 in 2018) you will get a stimulus payment.

Next, you need to continue to retrieve your IP PIN to file by the 15 Jul deadline.  Here is a link to help.

I just noticed my 2019 federal taxes were rejected for some u known reason I resubmitted them. Just out of Curiosity I checked my 2018 and to my surprise that was also rejected when I thought everything was done and done with 2018. So will I get my stimulus check with the federal being rejected? What do I need to do to correct my 2018?

For 2018, you will need to print and mail your tax returns.  See How do I finish a prior-year return that I started in TurboTax Online? for more information.  Since you haven't actually filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019, you will need to file your 2019 tax return in order to receive your stimulus payment.

Hello, I have some questions. So I did my tax return in 2018, but my dad claimed me on his 2019 taxes but they got rejected. So I’m just wondering if I would be getting the stimulus check?

When your Dad's return got rejected, it is the same thing as it never being filed. So if he didn't submit the return again with you listed as his dependent, then you should get the stimulus check. That is assuming you weren't listed as a dependent in 2018.

Your 2018 is found on form 1040 line 7.

To access your prior year online tax returns

  1. Sign into the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account last year.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show
  3. Click on 2018 and Click on Download/print return (PDF).

If you can't access your 2018 return, you can also request an online transcript or a copy by mail from the IRS website.

My 2019 was rejected because I do not have my IP PIN. I can not access it online and the IRS is not accepting phone calls. How can I fix this to get my stimulus check faster?

They will go by your 2018 return if you haven't filed 2019.
