When I file my taxes and specify that "someone else can claim me as a dependent", will it tell anything about my income to my parents?
Do you make enough for filing to be necessary? And your income is tied to your SSN. Even if your parents claim you as a dependent, that doesn't grant them admin access to your SSN and personal tax returns. You just can't claim yourself. This link has some more information regarding the matter:
