If I have a 1099-misc for only $20 for a class action suit settlement, do I have to claim it? According to your program - I would have to pay $75.98 to add this.

I would be required to upgrade to Deluxe $39.99 and pay for the state $35.99 - where all this was included in the "free" program I am using.

Yes, the IRS requires taxpayers to claim all income.

The more information you enter, the more accurate the refund meter will be, and will not be totally accurate (and thus truly meaningful) until you have entered all of your personal information including all income and deductions.

If you do not qualify for TurboTax Free Edition, you may qualify for a free return with Freedom Edition See:  www.taxfreedom.com
