I was told that my state and federal taxes wouldn’t go through. They told me I needed to get this number or document from IRS. The number is right, so what’s the problem?

How many people here pay money to not be able to talk to somebody? I want my money back.

What number?   Your AGI?   Try using zero.

The IRS uses your prior year AGI to combat fraud.   This could be what the reject is about, if so, see below about finding your last year AGI.

It could also be that the IRS is requesting additional forms like a 1095-A or Form 8862. Can you see the language on the reject?

Here's how you can fix it:

Sign in to your account and select the Fix my return button. Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.

Additional reject instruction here.

You can find your 2023 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) by:

  • Looking at line 11 on page 1 of your 2023 Form 1040
  • Requesting a transcript of your 2023 tax return from the IRS. You can request your transcript online at the following link: Get Transcript
