I was charged the amount I'm supposed to get back from federal because of a dropped negative sign and my account is massively overdrawn. How can this be fixed? HELP!!

My State return has the same problem. I'm so upset right now. 😭

No one in the user forum can see your tax return.  What do you mean by "I was charged the amount I'm supposed to get back?"

If you are getting a federal refund the amount of that refund is on line 35a of your Form 1040.  Do you have an amount there?

PREVIEW 1040

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.

Or.....is there an amount of federal tax DUE on line 37?   Line 37 is what you owe to the IRS.

It cannot be both.   There cannot be amounts on line 35a and on line 37.

Who charged you the amount that has caused you to be overdrawn?  The IRS?  Your state?   Please explain.
