I thought I agreed to pay tax owed through turbotax but there is nowhere to see if that in fact happened. Or do I need to pay it through IRS directly?

There is no way to look this up, even on my 1040. It just says tax due. I could have sworn I selected to pay that through bank account on turbotax after e-filing but there is no way to check through records. Or does this not exist and I have to pay directly through IRS website?

If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

Try this...  It worked for me.

TurboTax Online Instructions:  Follow these steps to view/print your instruction page:

·         Sign back into your TurboTax online account

·         Scroll down and click "Add a State"  (This is just a way to get you back into your tax return)

·         Next select "Tax Tools" (left column) and then "Print Center"

·         Select "Print, save, or preview this year's return"

·         Check the boxes for your Federal and State returns (this will open further options)

·         Choose to include the government and TurboTax worksheets

·         Then click "View or Print Forms".

You will see a form with details on your payment choices.

If you don't choose to pay earlier, your direct debit is scheduled for the tax filing deadline, April 18, 2023 by default. But by all means, try tceryan1234's solution to verify that you set up the payment.
