How to install Turbo Tax if you don't have a CD drive
Hi, If you have a CD drive on your computer or on the side if a laptop, just place the Turbo Tax CD in the slot and it will start running on its own. Just answer the questions and at the end you will have to click on the .exe file to load it on your computer. Remember to save the box because it has your authorization code you will need during the process to authenticate that you really purchased it. Good luck, Pat
I purchased TurboTax Premier CD at Costco. How do I download in on my computer that has no CD?
You can easily purchase an External CD-Rom using the USB port from Walmart or Amazon. Once you purchase the CD you have to install it using the CD-Rom drive. It comes in handy anyway for music, writing to CD's or loading games.
I bought mine at Costco too.
There should be a card in the CD case on on the CD envelope that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.
How to download Turbo Tax instead of using the CD
Bottom line, the instructions on the packaging are not valid. You cannot go directly to InstallTurboTax.com. I was able to download by going to https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/contact . Scroll down the page in the lower right under CD/Download Products you will see Turbotax CD/download login. Hit that link and and click the Downloads link on the following page. This will list any prior purchases. Scroll down the page and you will see a blue link "Enter your license code here..." That is how you can download your software. ABSOLUTELY INSANE. The packaging instructions are entirely unusable. You will have to sign in to access this page.
I used it. It went easy and smooth. Just like the envelope said.
If you buy the Turbotax from Costco. Most of their cashiers dont know that you are suppose to pick up the real product at their Customer Service. I learned it the hard way.
