I purchased the turbotax deluxe from the store. When I try to file, turbotax ask me to pay for premium service which I don't want. How can I avoid it?

I bought the turbotax deluxe from costco. When I filed my tax, turbotax request me to pay $25.00 for e-file and $45.00 to upgrade to premium which that I don't want.  Anyone know how should I deal with this?

Yes,  In the California Desktop program to remove Audit Defense and Premium Services you have to change to pay the $20 or 25 state efile fee by credit card and not by having it deducted from your federal refund.  Or print and mail state for free.  Go back through the File tab again and change to pay with a credit card.  Then if Audit Defense is still there you can remove it.

If you are in California you need to remove the Premium Service first

When you use the CD/download there is always an extra fee to e-file the state return.   If you do not want to pay the state e-file fee you can print, sign and mail the state.

We cannot see the software version you are using.   Did you upgrade to Premier?   Or did you choose some add-on feature?  Or prepare an extra state return?
