Your 2019 tax return shows your 2019 Adjusted Gross Income  (AGI)  If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.

Form 1040        line 8b

If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Home for 2019

If entering the amount from your 2019 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead.  If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:

Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2019 AGI may not be in the system.

The best place to get last year's AGI is from the 1040 (2019) form you filed last year.  Look on Line 8b.   If you filed your 2019 taxes with TurboTax, sign in, and from the Tax Home page, scroll all the way down to Your tax returns & documents.   Select View adjusted gross income (AGI).   TurboTax will automatically transfer your AGI over when you e-file if you are using the same account you used last year.

If you're having trouble locating your 2019 return, the second-best place to get your AGI is from the IRS.  You can order a free transcript of your return at the IRS Get Transcript site or you can purchase a full copy of your 2019 return. Both versions will include your AGI.

If you are using the lookback provision for purposes of claiming the EIC or CTC, use your 2019 earned income, which you can find from your 2019 tax return also.   This usually includes the total of the amounts reported on:

 - Form 1040, line 1 (Wages, salaries, and tips)

 - Schedule C, line 3 of Schedule 1 (net business income)

 - Schedule F, line 6 of Schedule 1 (net farm income)

I don't have my AIG number from last year's form.  Could you send it to me.
