I'm using TurboTax Business 2022 on Windows 10. The Updater just says: Waiting for the installer service... I've restarted the computer. It won't update the program

For a paid service, I didn't realize it's difficult to get support.

Please help. It just keeps saying "Waiting for installer service..."

I've done all the steps I could find to remedy the issue of "Waiting installer service". It just stays there. I tried the Scan Now on command prompt as well to repair any broken windows file. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling TurboTax. I also tried restarting the installer services. Nothing is working. While one update went through after reinstalling, it still won't complete the update. It just stays on "Waiting for installer service..."

You may try doing a manual update.

I've solved this issue. Right-click Start and open Task Manager (or open by hitting ctrl+alt+del and selecting Task Manager).
Under the Details tab, navigate to msiexec.exe, right-click on it, and terminate the process (End task). Open TurboTax and attempt to install updates immediately.

Windows TurboTax Desktop Deluxe 2024 version

I had the same problem "waiting for installer service" even after Windows reboots.

I couldn't find msiexec.exe in Task Manager Details or Task Manager Services

But I did notice that Task Manager Services msiserver was stopped. I started it and then my updates went through immediately. Hope this helps somebody in the future.
