I live in Brazil, and due to my foreign state and zip codes of my address I could not electronically file, and due to COVID mailing to the USA is suspended. Help!

Hello, I just did my taxes yesterday. I live overseas, in Brazil, and due to the fact that the state and zip codes of my address (which were not recognised by the system, since they are in Brazil) are different I could not electronically file. So i printed and went to the post office now, but due to COVID mailing to the USA is completely suspended. So I would like to see if there's a way to correct this issue with my zip and state code in my taxes to file them electronically, OR if there's an email address I can use to send them (both federal and ZNY state returns). Thank you.

It depends.

You should be able to e-file using a foreign address.  Please see the following link for instructions on how to make your entries into TurboTax.

Please see the following for more information on when you can e-file using TurboTax.

You cannot e-mail your tax return in. This is not an option.

Did you happen to select the optional MAX Benefits package?   If so, it can cause a problem with that "State/zip code" error.  We can tell you more if that's your situation.

Also, to be sure you are using the correct product, what is your citizenship status in regards to US tax law?   Are you a US citizen or qualify as a "resident alien for tax purposes", or are you considered a non-resident alien?  TurboTax can only prepare returns for US citizens and resident aliens for tax purposes.   It cannot prepare returns for non-resident aliens, since it does not prepare 1040NR/NR-EZ.

If you're not sure how you are classified, I can ask someone familiar with international filing to assist you.
