I just updated my turbo tax so I can pay the tax amount, and it is asking for a license code. Where do I get the license code?

You are using the Desktop program?  Did you enter the License Code when you first installed it?  You needed to keep the code.

What is a License Code and why do I need one?

If you lost the Code Contact Customer Service 5am-9pm Pacific M-F

It should have only asked you the first time you installed.  Or are you installing it on another computer?  Turbo Tax asks for the License Code each time you start

this is BULL**bleep**.  TurboTax FORCED me to do an update.  after update it requires the license code.  I installed and used this app many months ago.  I should not need the code unless i was to re-install on a different computer.  Like i said. this is BS.   time to switch to TaxAct next year.

I just went through the same problem.  It got worse once I entered the code several times as it then said I had used up all of my activations!

I tried the solutions that Intuit provides, none of which worked.  I spent about an hour and a half (WAY too long!) with tech support and finally got something to work.  Intuit gave me a new code, which didn't fix the problem.  What did fix it was a new download of the program for which they emailed me a link.  I ran the download, told it to remove the existing program (support said NOT to remove it through Programs and Features), then ran it again to install the new copy.  It worked and didn't even ask for the license code.  I'm assuming it picked it up from the previous installation.
