I have entered my 3895 form information correctly however it is not letting me "continue" - prompting me to fix errors before I can continue. However there are no errors?

I have 2 x 3895 forms so I need to leave some monetary boxes blank (A,B,C columns).

Here is some helpful information on the filing of Form 3895:

I have the same issue and there is no answer available on the State Tax Filing and CA 3895 link.

I am having a similar issue. It is telling me my 3895 has an error, but I don't need a 3895. I think there is a bug in the code for 3895.

Did you ever figure this out? I am having the exact same issue.

Yes. I deleted the form. In this post someone sent instructions on how to do that.

Did this get resolved? This is an issue for me now.

I'm having the same issue and it is impossible to do what is recommended once you trigger the error. You cannot delete the form & re-add it. I have to exit turbo tax to escape the error message and when I log in and try to go to some other part of my form it says "undefined" and logs me out. I have contacted customer service and had them launch an investigation. It will take 7-10 days though from today (April 21st). Hopefully this is resolved!

Delete the form, but DON'T re-add it. It should let you through after it is deleted.

Any update??? This is NOT working still. Deadline is today. No option to even delete the form and start over. Tried logging out and back in and nothing. Called turbotax wait time is over an hour. What can I do?

@sydgriss

E file wouldn’t work, TurboTax wouldn’t allow the form to be deleted.
The TurboTax solution was to file via the old fashioned mail. Hope you have stamps!

good luck

I figured this out a few days ago after being on the phone with hours with TurboTax. I even went back and forth with CoveredCA to ensure my tax form was correct (TurboTax made me do that). The real problem ended up being that you could not copy and paste the numbers into the columns at the bottom of the form. You had to manually type them in. I demanded that they make a note of that on the page if that was really the issue to prevent this from happening to others. I requested a discount. I didn't receive either of these things. This small issue made doing my taxes terrible this year. I was really disappointed.

Thank you so much!! After deleting the entire state return twice, redoing the entire thing and it still not working I didn't copy/paste the upper part the last time and it worked!! WOW! That is so weird yours didn't work for the bottom, because thats the only part on mine I did copy/paste on that worked. They seriously need this major glitch fixed on their website- that is a huge no no. Thank you for your help again! 🙂

I had the same issue. It detects an error on the page without showing you where the error is, which is lazy programming.

I had copy and pasted data into the form. I did NOT need to delete the form. I retyped every field from scratch, then it worked.

THIS EXACT ISSUE STILL HASN'T BEEN FIXED IN 2022!!!!!!

What worked for me: Enter the numbers  individually — cut and paste doesn't work.

Although the form says to leave the cell blank if there are no amounts, I had to enter zero to get it to work.

Turbo Tax —  you need to stop making the playing clients do you work.

Yes, it is 2022, and the same error from a year ago is still there. Using TurboTax Premiere desktop, and on Form 3895, I'm working on a return that received 0 subsidy for all 12 months. Entering "0" produces an error. Entering :0.00" produces an error. Entering nothing (leaving the field blank) produces an error. In other words, it is impossible to proceed beyond this point and file the tax return. I haven't reviewed TT 2021 on TrustPilot yet, but the stars are quickly vanishing over things like this. When it is a known bug for a year, it really ought to be fixed.

Hi! I joined the community forum just so I could comment on this topic definitively in April 2022, after spending 3 hours frustrated and on the verge of angry tears over the bug to the form 3895 entry within turbotax that still hasn't been fixed since over a year ago.

Here is exactly what to do.

0) If everything you see below annoys you, don't use Turbotax to file your state return. Use something else.

1) When you get to the part of your CA state return where it wants you to input your form 3895 info manually, DO NOT COPY AND PASTE. Even though it worked fine on the federal version of this form, there is a bug and it will not work here. Enter everything manually!!! It sucks.

2) If you are like me and you already copy and pasted, thinking it would work fine because it worked fine on the federal return, here is what you will probably have to do:

2a)-Try manually entering all the values. This didn't work for me but worth a try.

2b)-If that doesn't work, delete the form (see instructions elsewhere in this thread) and try it again. This also didn't work for me but worth a try.

2c)-If that also doesn't work, delete YOUR ENTIRE STATE RETURN and start from scratch, and this time don't copy and paste anything.  [It's at this point that I called a live support person and we went through it together, and it worked though I didn't really need him on the line.]

I have to +1 this previous comment from a user last year: "Turbo Tax —  you need to stop making the paying clients do you work."  I do not want to remain an Intuit client any longer because of this and have requested a refund.

I hope I save some people people a few hours by this post.  Please upvote it if it works to help out fellow mankind!!
