Note, I can install the code from the CD. However, I want to try this new feature of downloading from the website. This is for Windows desktop.
I had no problem downloading the software after buying a CD at Costco. When I went through the steps, it placed a download link in my Online Intuit account. Do you have an Online account (required)? Did you follow the steps in the FAQ below? If so, where does it fail?
The instructions are also in the Costco packet on the cardboard CD holder where your code is displayed.
@mesquitebean Sounds like he installed the CD? It might be this problem that I and another user are having. Any insight into this? I bought my CD from Costco too.
No, I did not installed the CD. I have a feeling, the website needs to be updated to allow this new feature of 2020 Turbotax software. Earlier years of the software didn't have the option. May be, there will be some kind of answer when the support team comes online Monday morning.

Did you see this window when you accessed this website - http://installturbotax.com/
The License Code was a new thing last year. Last year for 2019 returns I used the download option instead of the CD. It went very smooth for Windows and on my friend's Mac. Did you go to Installturbotax . com? Then what happens? What step are you stuck at? Are you using these instructions?
I have fixed the problem. There was an issue with my account. After I corrected that, I got the download window, and I was able to download my 2020 Premier software. Thanks for your support.
What was wrong? It may help me or other people. Did you have to call in?
Problem - account information was not complete. I was able to log in but the download window wouldn't come up. After reading some of the response(s) in the forum, I realized that the problem was on my side, not with the website. I looked into the account information, it occurred to me that this could be a problem. After completing the information (telephone number, and other personal stuff), I got the download done without any problem.
Being weekend, the support center was closed - no telephone support.
Will be a big help if the website gives an error message - 'Unable to download code. Your account information is incomplete.'. Thanks for your help - Bob.
This WAS VERY Annoying. Your product DOES NOT WORK with OSX!! How can the leading tax software provider not work with MAC? Furthermore, you do not make it easy to transfer the license to the online version. I purchased through Costco with email delivery for a Windows download. There were no options or indications at purchase. Even if there were, Intuit should make it easy to apply the license key to the online version. All I (and millions of others) want to do is license your product. How, after all these years, have you not solved this issue? I am going to post this complaint all over the internet if I don’t get quick remediation or a refund!
Waynerob is referring to two different problems. They sound like valid problems but they are different from the problem I had. I have a Windows system. After I figured out problem with my account, I was able to download the code with no problem. As far as I concerned, my issue is resolved.
