I have one year of taxes on one account (2019 and I have the file saved)... my other account has approx 10 years of returns so I definitely don't want to lose that 1. When I go to delete the one account I'm scared of losing my other account too since it's under the same email address... anyone know for sure that it won't delete both accounts?
TurboTax accounts cannot be deleted and they cannot be combined. Choose one of the accounts to use and just "abandon" the other one but keep a record of how to access it "just in case" you ever need to. Returns are saved for seven years and then they are gone.
SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !
EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.
In order to transfer a past year return to the new return you need the tax file
NOTE: TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years. Returns older than seven years are purged.
