I got switched to the delux version of TurboTax and I want to use the free version but it won’t let me switch back

Once you upgrade within the program, it will not allow you to downgrade.

You can go back and start over, and you will have to re-enter the information you entered.

You must have started a section, that warranted the upgrade to Deluxe, so if this situation does not exist, your best bet is to start over, but be carful so you do not upgrade again.

If you have not paid for TurboTax Deluxe then you can downgrade to the free version by using the Clear & Start Over option. 

• With TurboTax open select tax tools in the left-hand panel. 

• Then select Clear & Start Over. 

• Select yes when asked are you sure you want to clear your return.
