What is the error when trying to transfer the 2016 tax data file to the 2017 online edition?
It says the file is either not prior year return on it is corrupted. I opened it up in TurboTax 2016 desktop app to be sure and it is 2016 data and the file is fine. Also resaved it and still doesnt want to upload.
Is there an actual solution? I just spoke with Support, who told me that the "solution" is to enter previous year's info manually, or buy the CD/Download product.
If the tax data file for 2016 opens in the 2016 desktop program but you still get the error when trying to transfer to the online edition, then this needs to be diagnosed by TurboTax support.
