I filed my taxes for the first time. I have 1098T forms from past three years, never filed. Is there any way I could file them this year and get the reimbursements?

No, you cannot claim them in 2019 for the prior year 1098-T forms.

But you can prepare the prior year returns to determine if you would be eligible for any education credits.

See the following link for instructions on how to prepare returns for prior years.

Preparing a tax return from 2018 or earlier

You may or may not get an education credit if you have no income.  The American Opportunity Credit (AOC) is refundable up to $1,000 in 2019, but the other credit/deduction will not result in a refund if you do not have a tax obligation.

If you were claimed as a dependent on someone else's return, the taxpayer(s) who claim you would be entitled to claim the education credit.

Please see below for additional information on the credits and requirements.
