I didn't receive a w2-g. How can I still file this info on my taxes?

I only have the winner claim form. Where can I find a w2-g form from the information I have on hand?

To enter your gambling or prize winnings in TurboTax (even if you didn't receive a W-2G), please follow these steps:

  1. Click on Federal Taxes > Wages & Income  [If you're in TT Home & BizPersonal > Personal Income ]
  2. In the Less Common Income section , click on the Start/Update box next to gambling winnings.
  3. On the Gambling Winnings screen, click the Yes box.
  4. On the screen, Tell Us About Your Winnings, click the Skip W2-G box if Form W2g is not issued.
  5. On the next screen, Any Other Gambling Winnings, click the Yes box.
  6. You will be able to enter your winnings in the Other Gambling Winnings screen.
  7. Since gambling losses can be deducted as an itemized deduction up to the total of reported gambling and prize winnings, enter your losses (if any) on the next screen, Gambling Losses.

How about if I have a WG but my over-all losses are more than my over-all winnings?

To enter the W-2G  or other documents For your Gambling winnings--Go to Federal>Wages & Income>Less Common Income>Gambling Winnings

You can enter your winnings, and then keep clicking through the interview to enter gambling losses.

Gambling winnings are taxable income.  Losses are an itemized deduction.  If you do not have enough itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction, your losses will have no effect.
