The income is added in the federal section of TurboTax which will feed it over to the Utah return for you.  Follow these steps to enter it:

  1. Log in to TurboTax.com.
  2. Click on Wages & Income.
  3. Scroll down to Retirement plans and Social Security and click on Show more.
  4. Click on Start beside Social Security to enter the information from Form 1099-SSA.

You don't put it in there..

You put it into the Federal section,...on the Wages&Income page, and then the appropriate amount transfers to the UT program automatically.  The Federal AGI includes whatever amount of SS is being taxed, and Federal AGI is the starting point for the UT tax forms (line 4 of the TC-40)

98% of all the data entered into the tax software, must be entered in the Federal section....then only minor issues are handled in the state interview.

NO, income data and deductions and such do not transfer over to Utah state filing documents for me either; it's as though there is a program gap in transferring the data.

@acvt8z

(IF using desktop software)  One person found that saving the file, shutting down the tax software entirely, then restarting the software and the tax file fixed it....

Beyond that...

That's not something we can work out here.....talk to Customer Support:
