I am one step away from e-filing my 2021 1040 SR return. Turbo Tax states it is unable to transmit due to a Tax Program update that is required. How do I access that?

"TurboTax was unable to send your return to the IRS Validation failed: Tax Program Update Required. - There is an update
lie electronicalv. vou must get this update.
Looks like we had a technical hiccup?

My preferred method would be to e-file, but the validation error that pops up on transmit states if I continue to have problems, my other option is to just mail it.  Fred

Michelle:  I own a Mac but went ahead and rechecked.  Yes, there was an update awaiting installation.  Hadn't checked lately, assuming I was almost done.  Installed, relaunched and voila, the return was sent.  Thank You and Well Done.  Fred

Same issue here.  03/11/2022 turbo tax 2021 technical hiccup efile error / Software purchased on MacOS computer. 

 

I received the 11Mar soft date update.  All errors cleared and I tried efile 3 times and received the TRANSMISSION DIDN’T GO THROUGH /  Technical Hiccup error during VALIDATION Check. I called TT support Level 2 rep.  No help at all. Basically she said you are out of luck. They can’t help.  Any other have TECHNICAL HICCUP.  I am using Turbotax disk Tax Year 2021 Premier from Amazon and have updated all along per request with MACOS Big Sur

I had same issue 03/11/2022.  I posted problem. Today 3/13 new update since 11th update.  Technical Hiccup issue resolved and I was able to Efile awaiting IRS acceptance.  Thanks to all here.

I am on a PC and received the same error message, unable to update from the 3/11/2022 build.  I tried the manual process to update and was still unable to update the files.  Where do I go from here?

I had exactly the same problem on Mac TurboTax Deluxe downloaded: ready to e-file but kept getting "technical hiccup" with just "cancelled" as the reason.  Not particularly conducive to troubleshooting!  I tried removing cookies and enabling pop-ups, but those suggestions did NOT solve the problem.

 

Solution: Though I didn't receive any notification of updates when I restarted TurboTax, I *manually* checked for updates, and found that there were updates to be installed!  When I installed those updates and restarted TurboTax, the e-files went through with no problems.

I have completed my taxes but, cannot efile because i cannot update.  how can i fix this?

I believe I had to uninstall and reinstall Turbotax.  Solved the problem.

This appears to be still an issue with Deluxe 2023. On with support for 2 hours and no resolution. Then got hung up on. Called back and on hold again. Very frustrating and disappointed in TurboTax. Do better folks.

This has been resolved.

Try closing TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies if you are using TurboTax Online, and reopen TurboTax. You can also try a different browser.

Also, make sure you have ran all updates. 

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, check for updates under the Online Tab.
