Set up each business separately (Avon, Instacart, Uber). Enter is as self-employment income.
- Your business name would be your name.
- Your business address would be your address.
- You would use your own social security number, not Avon's or Instacart's or Uber's Employer Identification Number (EIN) unless you applied for an EIN with the IRS. It is not required that you do.
- In the Business Description, you would enter Avon or Instacart or Uber.
If you have an online store
or drive for Uber or sell Avon products, you may get Form 1099-K. If you
received payments from electronic and online payment services like
Paypal or credit/debit card transactions, 1099-Ks are
mandatory when there are more than 200 transactions and the gross payments
exceed a certain amount
The IRS is establishing a
compliance program using the data they collect with this form.
If your self-employment income is from cash or personal checks or credit card payments or on a 1099-K.
- Type sch c in the Search box
and
- Then
click on Jump to sch c.
- This
will take you to where you can enter any cash, personal checks or credit card
payments (Form 1099-K) related to your self-employment.
- You
may be asked some general questions about your business.
- After
you answer them, you’ll be taken to the Your
Business screen where you can enter this income as Additional Income under Business Income.
If you received a 1099-MISC for your
self-employed income.
- Type 1099-misc in the search box and
click search.
- Click
on Jump to 1099-misc.
- This
will take you directly to the section where you can enter your 1099-MISC.
- You’ll
also be able to enter any cash, personal checks or credit card payments (Form
1099-K) related to your self-employment.
