How to get back to original tax return?

I submitted my state and federal taxes earlier in March and then realized I forgot to enter in a donation.  I received a letter from my state department of revenue stating that the return I had mailed was illegible or was in the wrong format.  I had already completed my amended return in preparation for sending it in once my original state return was processed but now I cannot get back to my original tax return documentation that I submitted before I completed my amended return.  Please advise on how to go back and get a copy of my original 2020 tax returns.

Thanks so much!

Please try these instructions to print your original return:

  1. In TurboTax Online, sign into your account.
  2. Select Tax Home in the left menu.
  3. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
  4. Select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this opens the return back up)
  5. Select Tax Tools on the left and then Print Center and choose the print center
  6. Select returns and choose to print just the tax return or to include all worksheets as well.

I tried the steps provided but under Your Tax Returns & Documents, it states, "

You haven't filed your taxes with TurboTax yet.
Check back once you've filed your first tax return. You'll be able to access all of your completed returns here.".

Why wouldn't any document show up for me as I have submitted my tax returns through TurboTax for many years but I use the version from the CD disk I purchased....does that make a difference?

If you open TurboTax and it says you haven't filed yet, go back to the FILE tab at the top and complete your filing.

Maybe you mailed your state a copy, but did not go through the FILE section to do so, so TurboTax thinks you have not filed yet.
