How to enter Bank Information for Stimulus Check if no payment needed

My parents are retired and do not owe any money for their Federal taxes.

How can we enter their bank information to get their stimulus check?

Since they do not owe (they also do not get a refund) their bank information was not requested by TurboTax.

Thank you

Even if they do not owe, they must answer the questions about the stimulus payments in order to get the Recovery Rebate Credit.

If they are eligible for the credit (the stimulus payments they did not receive) , they will get a refund.

If they are due a refund, TurboTax will ask for banking information in order for the refund to be deposited to their account.

If they did get the stimulus payments (if they receive Social Security, their payment would have been sent to whatever bank receives their Social Security Payments) then they don't get the Recovery Rebate Credit.

The recovery rebate Credit is for people who have not received the first and/or the second stimulus payments. It is not an ADDITIONAL payment.

Go into your account and click "Tax Home"

On that screen click "Other Tax Situations"

When the drop-down opens, click "Let's Get Started" or "Review/Edit" to move forward

There may be a delay when opening to this next screen

Scroll to the bottom of this screen and click "Let's keep going"

The next screen should read "Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount" (If not, click continue to move forward until you do get to that screen)

Scroll down and click "Continue"

The next screens will ask if you received the stimulus, which ones and how much.

The software will calculate a credit if applicable.

Thank you for the response, but I do not think I was clear in my question.

My parents received the stimulus payments last year but it was in the form of a physical check.

They want it to be direct deposited. (they are anticipating another stimulus check coming soon)

I heard that the government will deposit the money in the bank account that is listed on your tax form - but since they do not owe they were not prompted to enter bank information.

How can we enter the bank information so that the stimulus checks will be direct deposited.  (they do get social security direct deposited, but for some reason they were sent paper checks)

Thank you

The IRS does not allow for direct deposit information to be entered on a return with no refund.
