How to download TT desktop onto 2nd computer?

I see multiple versions of this question already asked, but I am still unclear on the answer. I have purchased and downloaded one copy of TT desktop version on Mac #1 using Acct #A and getting License #My2024.

 

To get the same TT software downloaded on Mac #2 using Acct #B, which is the next step for downloading?

 

Is it this? login to TT on Mac #2 with Acct# B and enter License #My2024

 

or this? login to TT on Mac #2 with Acct #A and enter License #My2024; then open TT app in  Acct #B

Please see this help article to troubleshoot installation and updating issues for Mac.

 

  • Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
  • Verify that you have administrator rights.
  • Turn off file sharing by going to the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Sharing. Then, uncheck all options under the Services tab. This will stop your computer from sharing any files.
  • If needed, remove and reinstall TurboTax for Mac.
  • Allow cookies and pop-up windows.
  • If you’re asked to grant access to your confidential information, enter your Mac password and select Always Allow.
  • From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General.
    • Select the Lock to make changes.
    • Then select the App store and identify developers under Allow applications downloaded from (if you're unable to choose it, select the lock icon and enter your admin password).
  • Temporarily turn off your firewall and virus-detection software as well as any other program that connects to the Internet, such as email or web browsers.
    • Remember to turn your security software back on after the download is complete.

TurboTax 2024 software can be installed, authenticated, and activated on up to 5 different computers per the TurboTax Desktop Software End User License Agreement for Tax Year 2024.

Yes you need to log into the same Intuit account (account A).  And you can download it from there.  Your License Code will be listed there too.  Here’s mine.

I was able to download TT desktop onto the 2nd computer using the same account #A and TT license code as on the 1st computer. But when I try to open TT with account #B on the 2nd computer, it complains that the license code is associated with a different account!

 

Do I need to open TT on computer #2 with account #A after it is installed? If so, how do I start a new return that  brings in information from a different person's return in 2023?
