How to changed stimulus amount... when I went through steps it asked if we got 2400 and 1200 and we did well as I continued it then asked if I got 2400 and 1200 and I realized I should have marked 120

If you haven't filed your return then please follow these steps to make changes to the stimulus amount:

 

1. Log into TurboTax.
2. After entering all your information click "Federal Review" at the top of your screen. 
3. On the screen "Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount" click "Continue".
4. You will be asked about the amounts of first round and second round stimulus payments you received.  If you did not receive a payment enter "0".
5. TurboTax will then calculate the amount of stimulus payment remaining that you are still entitled to get. 
6. Any stimulus amount remaining due to you will show as a credit on line 30 of the 1040.

 

If your return has been accepted you will have to wait and see if you receive your refund that includes the correct credit. If not then you will need to amend your return (1040X) and send the funds back to the IRS. Please see  FAQ How to amend a tax return for instructions.
