How many W-2s can be filed with the program electronically? I am in a business where I will get literally dozens of W-2s and still want to file my own taxes.

You have your own business?  Are you sure  you will get W2s and not 1099NEC?  Why will you get lots of W2s?  Only employees get a W2, not self employed persons.  I don't think I've ever seen a max number of W2s you can enter.

If you are self-employed or are an "independent contractor" you are not going to receive W-2's.    You will more likely get 1099NEC's from your clients.   Only an employer issues a W-2 to you.   If you are an independent contractor you do not have an employer--you have clients.

Have you performed any work for an employer who has been withholding  federal and/or state tax, Social Security or Medicare from your wages?

AND...if you are a self-employed independent contractor, you may only get 1099-NEC forms from businesses you work for.  IF you are working for (say) a homeowner for installations or repairs, you likely won't get 1099-NEC forms from them, and you need to keep your own accurate records of material costs vs $$ received.

They are W-2s, the question is there a limit to the number of W-2s that can be entered.  It sounds like nobody really knows the answer; a lot of speculation.

Your own words---"I am in a business....."      suggested that you are self-employed.

True....we haven't had that situation for W-2 forms.  Normally, a person would very rarely have more than 4 or 5 per spouse...more commonly maybe 2 or 3.

However

I  do "seem" to recall there was an issue for a limit on multiple W-2G forms from gambling...For that one, I don't remember what the limit was, but I seem to recall the person had multiple W-2G forms from the same casino, and was advised that if the software wouldn't allow any more, that they could combine the ones from the same Casino, into one W-2G as long as the Casino's "issuer" Federal ID number was the same on each W-2G.

But we've never heard of anyone hitting a limit for W-2 forms...yet...You could be the first.

If you have many W-2s you can sum the data and enter it as one W-2.

In past years, there was a listing on the IRS web site of any forms limitations, but I can't find it this year.
