You can issue form 1099 MISC through Turbo Tax Home and Business with the link provided to Quick Employer Forms. You do have to have a return started (not completed) and you do have to pay your Turbo Tax fees for your personal return. There is no additional charge for Quick Employer Forms.
When you sign into Turbo Tax, after you select Continue My Return, you can select create W-2 and 1099s from the list of things under Manage Your Return.
I have still found no satisfactory answer for this in 2017 and NO WORKING PHONE SUPPORT.
There's a link on the login page under the section titled "Manage and Grow Your Business" that allows you to create 1099 misc forms. No need to do personal taxes first.

I have the same issue, there is no Manage Your Return option. Can someone answer?
This post was started 2 years ago. There have been changes.
Are you using the Online version? How to access Quick Employer Forms from the Online version. This post has screen shots

If you are using the Desktop CD/Download program post back with your operating system, windows or mac.
Using a mac OS 10.13.6. Downloaded from a CD. NOT using the online version.
@tazinvests What is your question?
This is a new forum layout. Some posts that have June 2019 dates are really older posts from the old forum that got moved over. So they might be for prior years and not current info. When they migrated over the dates got changed to June 2019. And the screen shots got deleted.
What about for 2020? TTax walked me through it and I just received word that Irs rejected the form and it's a new form???
Yes. There is a new Form 1099-NEC (stand for non-employee compensation) that must be used for those you have paid for services that is greater than $600.
When you are signed into your TurboTax Online account Select Income & Expenses tab
Select Review beside Self-Employment income > Review beside the business
Edit Required to send 1099s (even if you already have 'Yes' marked
This will allow you to return to the screen where you can click the hyperlink 'Help me prepare and file W-2s and 1099s'
Click on Quick Employer Forms at this point while you are in the tax return
For 2020, if you are paying anyone for services you must file Form 1099-NEC.and is provided in the Quick Employer Forms. Here is an article with more information.
If you are filing a 1099Misc with Rents on it I hear the IRS is rejecting those. I hope Turbo Tax is looking into that. They aren't rejecting the new 1099NEC.
I purchased the TurboTax 2020 Home & Business download version (MAC) so I could create and file 1099-NECs for contractors. I can't find how to do it anywhere in the documentation or application's help.
Please provide instructions for creating and filing the new 1099-NEC forms.
Also, my Intuit account does not show that I purchased this product, how do I update my account to show that I purchased this product. I did fill in and send the registration form at the beginning of the installation process.
Let me know if this still works.....
If you are using the Mac Home & Business CD/Download program you can only prepare W2s and 1099s using QEF-Quick Employer Forms. At the bottom of the Welcome to Turbo Tax screen it should say Create 1099s for Contractors and W2s for Employees.
Another way to get to the Quick Employer Forms is to go to the Business tab - Continue
Select I'll Choose what I work on (if it comes up)
Top item Profit or Loss from Business - Click Start
Click Edit by your Business
Then either
Scroll down to Business Expenses
On Other Common Business Expenses, click the start or update button
There are two sections where you can start using the QEF for contractors or employees.
For Contractors, on Contract Labor, Click the Start button
On the screen "Enter Contract Labor Expenses" there is shown "Create and File W-2s and 1099s Online with Turbo Tax Quick Employer Forms" and a "Start here" blue highlighted link. This will take you to the QEF website.
And see

Thanks so much, that worked.
Here's what I did:
Is this answer still accurate for 2022 taxes? I don't want to pay, start my return, and then discover that TurboTax no longer supports filing 1099s.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for creating W'2 and Form 1099's - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-forms/create-w-2-1099-forms-employees-contractors/L0yjM6jDz_US_en_US
According to that article, the answer is NO. People using the downloaded Turbotax Home & Business software for Mac cannot file 1099-NECs at all for the 2022 tax year.
This is really not the answer I was hoping for, but I need to file 1099-NECs this week, so I guess I will be using the Live products. I'm more and more disappointed with TurboTax's service every year, but they kind of have a monopoly in this area, at least as regards my needs. :(

The main FAQ for preparing them makes it sound like Mac can't do them but I think that is only to do them on your computer using the built in W2/1099 reporter. You should be able to still use the Online QEF Quick Employer Forms method. Haven't heard anyone come back and say they couldn't use Mac Home & Business.

I use Turbo Tax Home & Business to issue 1099-NEC to my employees, these 1099-NEC need to transmit to IRS by February 28. does Turbo Tax do the transmission for me?
