How do I escalate a previous year tax discrepancy to Turbo Tax and speak with a LIVE person?

I live in NJ, and worked in NYC for 2021 and 2022, but TurboTax did NOT file correctly, nor ask me to submit a NY state tax return - though NOW I am finding out it is required, and I am IMMEDIATELY charged THOUSANDS of dollars in interest by NJ. Is TurboTax going to help me or not, because I cannot find a live person to speak with for guidance on their INCORRECT FILING of my taxes.

My previous years returns do NOT have an option to view order details. When I download my return, I am also NOT seeing any details about the order, and everything that I paid for....

Any additional suggestions?

No agent will be able to help you with this on the phone.  You need to go to Facebook and send a message to Intuit TurboTax.  Let them know what happened and someone will contact you to resolve this issue.

No one in this user forum has access to your tax returns.  We cannot see what you entered---or did not enter--when you prepared those returns.  However, the statements you are posting here suggest that you may have been rather confused when you prepared your returns.   You say that you live in New Jersey-----which means you should have filed a New Jersey tax return.   But you worked in New York---which means you also should have filed a non-resident New York return.   You do not mention whether tax was withheld from your paychecks for NJ, NY, or both.   When you entered your information into MY INFO, you were asked to enter information for where you LIVED during the tax year, and next you were asked if you made money in any other state in that same year.  We have to wonder if you answered correctly and said there that you made money in NY.   If that question had been answered  correctly, the software would have instructed you to prepare a non-resident NY return.

You were supposed to prepare the returns in this sequence--1. federal   2.  New York non-resident. 3. New Jersey resident     So you were supposed to prepare two state returns----then you would have had credit given for tax paid to one state by the other state---you would not be double taxed.   You are stating that the software did not prompt you to prepare a NY return, and also that NJ wants a lot of money from you.  Did you file state returns for either state?

We cannot sort this out for you in this forum.  First try contacting the support numbers that have already been provided to you.    We hope they can help you understand this.   You may need a real time, perhaps face to face sit down with a tax pro to help you understand what happened and get this figured out.
