Can you clarify if you have multiple W-2s?

Yes, I have 2 W2s, each with local withholding. After I enter the information for the first and I clicked the button to add more, it continues to populate the first company name/W2 details and I can't figure out how to switch to the second.

The first W-2 is not registered as complete before entering the second W-2.  Follow these steps to complete the first W-2:

  1. Click Wage & Income
  2. Click Edit/Add next to Job (W-2)
  3. Click Edit next to the first W-2 you entered
  4. Verify Employer Information and click continue
  5. Verify Income and Taxes and click continue
  6. Review if any uncommon situations occurred and click continue
  7. When you go back to "Your W-2 Info so far, click Add another W-2."
  8. Enter the second W-2
  9. If it is stuck in a loop, you may need to delete the first W-2 and start again

Got it! Had to delete and start over but that worked! Another question...it says not to ender school district information but it's prepopulated. How do I do delete that. Just not enter something in the Select Type box?

Exactly, try that to see if that works or you may have to delete and manually enter the necessary information.

If you have to manually enter be sure to get the numbers accurate.

You can change or delete your W-2 info if you haven't filed your taxes yet.

In TurboTax Online or CD/Download:

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. From the menu, select Search and type-in W-2
  3. Select the Jump to link in the search results
  4. On the Your W-2 info so far screen, select Edit next to the W-2 you want to change
  5. Select the trash can Delete icon to delete the W-2

In the TurboTax mobile app:

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. Select Wages & Income
  3. Select Review/Edit
  4. Select Job (W-2)
  5. Select Review to edit the W-2
  6. Select the three-dot icon and select Delete

If you already e-filed, wait until your return is either accepted or rejected.

  • If rejected, you can edit the W-2 as instructed in this article before resubmitting or paper-filing your return
  • If accepted (or if you already paper-filed), you'll probably need to amend your return if the edits you're making will cause your taxes to change
