Hello, I’ve completed my entire federal return but keep receiving an error saying 10b on my 1040 is an unacceptable value? How can I correct this

I am filing as a single dependent

This is a known bug and has been reported.  Remove the amount as requested.

Go to the Charitable Donations section under Deductions & Credits to enter the amount of cash donation. This will correct the problem.

To enter charitable donations -

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Charitable Donations
  • On Donations to Charity in 2020, click on the start or update button

Or enter charitable donation in the Search box located in the upper right of the online program screen. Click on Jump to charitable donation.

The fix has you enter the amount as part of Itemized Deductions, which does not flow through to Line 10b. The point of Line 10b is to allow a $300 deduction IN ADDITION TO CLAIMING THE STANDARD DEDUCTION. Entering the contribution where you instructed goes nowhere.

Please fix your bug.
