A pirate site caused me much hassle with the "Activation Failed" screen including a scam phone # unknown to Intuit. After much hassling with scammer, it turned in to a sales pitch for iSecure.
Intuit is no doubt very busy putting out such fires, but this one deserves to be cut off. I saved evidence of their method and ID if useful.
Thanks to two Intuit phone advisors who were quite helpful before we got cut off for some reason. ;<)

Logged into TT account & installed successfully. The trick is to ALWAYS know who you're contacting and dealing with (violated my own rules). The scammer was very adept at seeming valid, but must check actual URL & NOT use phone #s on a screen. Intuit needs to know and defeat Isecure LLC from diverting the activation process! [Saved evidence of interaction if wanted]

I think I was directed to a scam site when I attempted to download my Turbotax software. I encountered someone who wanted access to my computer. It was a sales pitch for ISECURE. How do I get around this?
Yes, it is a misdirection. Let Intuit/Turbotax know that they need to rid themselves of this thing!
I have a problem to activate my download of Buisness/Corp software
After trying unsuccessfully for 40 minutes to obtain the license window to download Turbotax, I accidentally fell into this scam window... figured it was still Turbotax... and allowed "Frank" access to my computer for troubleshooting.
Since then, we've scanned my computer, and didn't find anything suspicious... nor did it appear he extracted anything.
I feel a little comfort that you found their motive... a sales pitch for iSecure... and not something malicious.
So I ask, did you allow him access to your computer?
And do you think it was only a sales pitch... and nothing was extracted from my computer?
There's nothing significant is on it... except for Turbotax, which obviously contains SSNs.
