Form 8938 can not save for this year tax return

I use 1099-OID (photo 1) to input my information, and at the end the Delete Confirmation (photo 3) shows up.

Click Yes or No, and my information didn't save & back to photo 4.

 

I had no issue on form 8938 for last year tax return using turbotax.

 

Your help is much appreciated.

In order to assist you, I would like to take a look at your program to see what's going on, if that's okay with you.  This is called a diagnostic copy request. To send me a copy, here are the steps you would need to take on your end:

 

In TurboTax online,

  • Sign in to your account, select Pick up where you left off
  • To your left, select Tax Tools, click on the drop-down menu
  • Select Tools
  • On the Tools Center screen, select Share my file with Agent ( the very last option)
  • Follow prompts
  • You will be given a token number
  • Please provide me with that token number.  ( For security purposes, your personal information will not be revealed)

If you are using the desktop version, follow these steps:

  • Open up your program if you have not done so
  • On your menu bar at the very top, click "Online"
  • Select "Send Tax File to Agent" and "Send"
  • The pop-up will have a token number

TurboTax Agent Amanda provided me a download version, and the error disappeared.

I have this same problem - can you help? 8938 forms are not getting saved and I get the same message around deleting when I try to save.

Please contact a Turbo Tax agent and ask the downloaded version instead of the online version if you purchased a license already.

The error will be fixed.

Dear LinaJ2020,

 

I have a similar problem: 

In cannot include Form 8938 in final PDF, even though I filled out the "Foreign Financial Asset" section.

Could you please help?

I am seeing same issue. 

TruboTax needs to respond to this query. 

This is way too much an issue... downloaded version is NOT a right solution. 

Please help. Deadlines are approaching and you are going to look long term customers...

Tried talking with two specialists and none could figure out how to switch from online to downloadable software.  I already paid for online s/w. They could not provide license code or help in any other way to obtain desktop s/w. 

 

It's been painful experience for over 3 days. Couldn't file tax returns because of 8938 form not getting saved online.

I have a similar problem.

I created a form 8938 Turbo Tax through the forms view and submitted all eFile. I did not realize form 8938 did not get submitted by Turbo Tax until when I was reviewing the submitted pdf return .

I had to create an amended return and a separate form 8938 which were all printed and mailed via USPS.

What a pity,  does turbo tax should fix the bug ASAP and refund?

I am having the same problem!

 

I purchased the Deluxe version and have had no problems for the past several years.

 

But, Form 8938 is not saving or showing  up in the final return (PDF) this year!  Why?!

 

The problem is so bad that had to file an extension.  Funny story: the extension software in TurboTax ALSO did not work so I had to do it through a competitor!  Ugh...

 

Please fix this problem!

I am having the same issue in 2021. Entered the information on financial assets three times but it does not seem to save and form 8938 is not showing in my Federal form. What do I do?

Please contact the customer service representative to switch to CD or Download version to install on your PC instead. This issue will be fixed.

So I talked with an agent tonight and they recommended that I buy the download version from the website, and get a refund for the online version (which I already paid).  Does this sound like the right advice? I was expecting them to either correct the issue with the online version, or switch me to a download version for free.

It looks like the availability of Form 8938 was pushed back to 2/25/2021.  This might be what is creating my problem: https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_fed_online_individual.html

 

This is a little frustrating as I was initially told to file after 2/18, and I was lucky to catch that the form had not been included in my return.  Otherwise I would have filed without realizing that the form was missing.

Tried again this morning with the online version, Form 8938 is still not showing in my tax return.  I don't understand as I have been using the online version since 2017 and it's always worked for me in the past.

Tried to download the Mac version to realize that this won't work on my iMac (requires Mac OS 10.14 at minimum).  The Windows version is not compatible with Windows 7 anymore, so I can't install that either.  This is ridiculous!!!

Please switch to the download version, and it will work. The form did not work for me on the 2019 tax return, so I switch to the download version this year instead.

Thanks for the advice. I have read elsewhere that it is the only solution indeed. This is odd as I was able to file online last year, including form 8938. Now I need to find a computer with Windows 10 to be able to install the desktop version. 

I did request the refund also, both for the online and Mac version. I hope that won’t be a problem.

I have the same problem, i.e. TT Premier 2021 Online does not save Form 8938 that I already completed.

The TT rep I talked to cannot provide a download copy of TT.

This same problem was reported by several users of the TT Online version in 2020 and 2021. The TT rep told me that this problem is being investigated by TT going back 4 weeks ago.

Can TT advise the status of this investigation and when can this problem be fixed?
