For 2023, when I sign in to my TT account, will I be able to use TT on BOTH Windows and Mac computers? I have both types.

Turbotax Online is accessible from any computer with a web browser.

If you buy the desktop version to install on your own computer, the CD sold in stores contains both Mac and PC installers.  If you buy the desktop version installer from a retail vendor (Intuit, Amazon, or other) then you must specifically purchase the Mac or PC installer.

Thank you. My question concerned the new requirement to be logged into my account when installing on each computer. I want to make sure that the account license for 2023 will not prohibit using both Windows and Mac installers within my 5 computers.

Where did you see an instruction that you will have to be logged in to your account?

When you purchase the download, it is specific to Windows or Mac.   If you need to download it to both, you will have to get help from customer support, even with the license code.

Yes the FAQs have been updated.   How to download your software purchase.  This has instructions for getting both Windows and Mac

Nobody here seems to understand the NEW current policy for the 2023 "Desktop" product purchased from retailers.  The member is asking about the email received that stated, "To install and activate TurboTax 2023 on your computer, you’ll be prompted to sign in to your existing Intuit Account (or create an account if you don’t already have one) before entering your license code. The software won't install unless you sign in to your Intuit Account online. Importantly, your product license code can only be associated with one Intuit Account.
Your license code will then be stored in your Intuit Account, should you need to install the software again."

This is an entirely new process and does not answer the question about how many computers of any OS that can be used.  If more than one, do you need to signin every time?

Yes it is still 5 installs (5 total Windows and Mac combined).  Looks like you have to follow the steps for each install by logging into the same online account.  I'm curious too as I always buy the CD from Costco.

You can install the TurboTax2023 in 5 devices. But you MUST be logged in to your Intuit Account, on a Browser, in order to activate the program.

Once you have downloaded and installed and activated the downloaded program on your computer you will NOT need to keep logging into the TT account to use the program.   So if you will have your child install the program on their computer they will need access to your account to activate the program only.
