Fatal error 1603 updating TT 2023

Fatal error 1603 updating TT 2023

I have already researched this problem on the intuit support website, and I have followed all the suggestions.

  • Updated Win10Pro64
  • Used the .NET repair tool.
  • Turned off virus software.
  • Installed the manual TT update.

The manual TT update says it completed successfully, but when I load TT it continues to require an update and fails again and again. The solution might be for Intuit to provide for an update abort option, but that is not likely to happen. Is there a way to disable program updates?

No problems until TT installed the CA State return component.

Suggestions?

I also had no Problems till TT installed the CA State return.

I have been working on the phone with Intuit Rep. Andrew & he is also stumped.

Please Help!!!

Already been there, followed every step, and it did not solve the problem. In fact, those are the steps I listed in my post.

If you have done everything suggested here: Error 1603: "A fatal error occurred during installation or updating", we can only suggest calling Customer Service.

Same Problem.

Backup you tax file to another location just in case.

Remove TT2023 then reinstall from the CD etc.

This will fix the problem and updates will work.

Have the same problem, looks like  reinstall TT2023 is the only option.

The only Q now whether "reinstall"  on the same computer will require the new "license"?

(I used all 5 licenses already)

I reinstalled 3 times over the last couple months to get around the 1603 error.

I used the same license every time with no issue.

(On the same Windows 11 computer)

Everyone with this bug running windows 11 also?

Thank you SlickOne,  how do you know you didn't use license during reinstall ?

Did you have to login to Intuit account  to register you new installation(on the same computer)?

Or reinstall is skipping this step and  only asking to enter activation key?
By the way, I have this problem on Win10.
