When I was preparing for the Federal tax return 2024 yesterday, I found significant errors in my return just before the electronic submission to IRS. It was after I paid for the Turbotax premium service. So I fixed those errors and got ready for a submission to IRS on the same day. Then, Turbotax asked me again about my credit card information, which will be used surely for another payment, i.e., double charges.
So, I tried the Contact Turbotax option that asked my phone number. I am currently at overseas, so my US phone does not work. WRT, I have two questions.
1. Will Turbotax charge the fee again on my credit card when I try to submit (not resubmit) my return to IRS?
If that happens, will Turbotax give me a refund for one charge?
2. Is there any way that I can call Turbotax from overseas, e.g., Asia?
Thanks for your help.
TurboTax will only charge a fee when it is due. That being said there may be other fees due on your account that were not charged the first time that you paid for the software. So the system is most likely not trying to charge you for the same thing over again but for something else that it shows you owing.
You can contact TurboTax support here. In your case it may be easiest to chat online with them in your TurboTax account.
