All of the last 5 years had a control in the top left that showed amount owed/refunded as I entered data such as W2, 1099, etc. Is that feature removed for 2026? How can I turn that on?
That function has been removed from TurboTax. It was great for people who understood it, but caused a lot of confusion with people who saw an amount and then were upset when they input more data and that amount went down. I personally miss that feature, but it is no longer part of TurboTax preparation.

Thank you.
On the off-chance that an Intuit product manager sees this:
Removing this feature has lost you a 6-year returning customer.
If you bring this mandatory feature back, let me know and I may return.
Me too. I’m so frustrated and annoyed that this feature is missing now… just awful.
MISSING REFUND MONITOR
Sorry—-the “running” refund monitor that used to change as you entered data is gone. You have to get all of your income, etc. entered into the software in order to see the results.
The other place for you to look for your federal refund or federal tax due is on your Form 1040
Federal refund will be on line 35a
Federal tax due (that needs to be paid by April 15) will be on line 37
PREVIEW 1040
