Does TurboTax charge you again if you file after a rejection

Are there more fees after you refund is rejected to file again?

No.  If your return is rejected, you can re-submit without additional charge.  That IS, of course, unless you're required to upgrade to a higher edition of TurboTax in order to properly prepare your return.

I was charged a 2nd time! How do I get credited for the 2nd charge? Will I be billed twice for taxes owed?

@AlmondJoyMoy Please contact TurboTax Customer Support for assistance.  See the link below to contact Support.  Any duplicate billing will be refunded.  And you should not see a duplicate of taxes owed.

I filed my taxes & selected the option to pay Turbo taxes’s fee with the use of my tax returns. My forms now are being rejected by the IRS and need to be re-submitted. However, this is the second year in a row & I rather take a look at this issue with an accountant. Do I still get charged the fee for using the product even though it wasnt completed?

The fee is for the use of the program to complete a return that can be filed ... there is no fee to efile and at no time is efiling guaranteed.   So since the fee will not be withheld from the return you could not efile, you need to pay the TT fees to release the PDF.   You can just abandon the account and go elsewhere to file your return, you are under no obligation at this time.

Did you pay with a credit card or it was deducted to your refund. My return was rejected twice, I want to make sure I won't be charged twice for $230.

@jhoy2020 When you e-file your return and pay for your Turbo Tax product, you will not be required to pay again. This includes if it is rejected for any reason.

They would not process without paying again, and I could not stand to talk to another person.  Will it be refunded to me?

The only way you would have been prompted to pay again is if 1) you set up a new account, or 2) you added/upgraded the product you previously paid for. Please check these charges to make sure this is the case.

I did not upgrade or start a new tax so I don't know why but they charged me and I had to pay on my credit card before it would be taken.  Will you give me a credit for it?

TurboTax charged me twice. My first Return was rejected and I tried to print the tax return but it automatically filled out a second return and I saw 78.00 charged to my Federal Tax Refund even though that also was rejected. It won't let me print the form to mail it. I wanted the Free edition. I won't be back TurboTax

My first return was rejected. It made me pay when I owed again to send it resubmit.

This same thing happened to me today. I could not send it through again until I paid what I owed to them again.

I was told today by a Turbo tax agent that I would have to pay again to refile after a rejection due to a drivers license problem.  However, the software now won’t allow me to enter a different e-file identification method, such as my last years AGI or my state pin., so even if it was free, I can’t e-file.  Do you know a way to get back the original methods to verify my identity?  Then I could e-file if I wasn’t going to be charged another $25.

If your return was rejected you should log back into your account to take care of the rejection.  It will guide you on how to fix the errors.  You do not have to pay again.

Once I found out I could refile without paying again, I went through the process to the end and was able to enter new state information for my signing security.   Turbo Tax had not carried a corrected driver's license number over to the final signing page.  I corrected that and refiled today, using both my last year's AGI and my state pin, as well as driver's license number.  I am waiting to see if it is finally accepted.  I am quite uphappy with the fact that one of Turbo Taxes phone agents said over and over again that I would have to pay to refile.  It caused a great deal of anxiety and waste of time.  If this filing isn't accepted, there is either a problem with Illinois's tax acceptance process or a problem with Turbo Tax.

Thank you for your help!
